Privacy Policy
Effective October 21, 2026 · Draft, to be finalized before store release
The short version
Satchel does not collect, store, or have access to your data. What you save goes straight from your device to your own iCloud account, and from there to your other devices.
What Satchel stores, and where
- Your saves (URLs, titles, descriptions, tags, notes, and saved page content) are stored in your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit), which only you can access. They count toward your iCloud storage. CedarLogic LLC cannot read them.
- A local copy is kept on each device for fast search and for saving while offline.
- Browser extensions on Chrome and Edge keep a sign-in token for your iCloud account in the browser's local extension storage. It is never synced or sent anywhere other than Apple.
What Satchel does not do
- No analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking.
- No developer-operated servers. Satchel never sends your pages to a server for processing; it captures them on your device.
- No selling or sharing of data, because Satchel has none to share.
Network connections
Satchel connects to Apple's iCloud services to sync your library. When you view a saved page that contains remote images, those images load from their original websites, which can see that request. You can turn off remote image loading in Settings.
Extension permissions
The browser extension reads a page only when you choose to save it. It is not injected into the pages you browse.
Children
Satchel is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
